Nov 26, Bookevin rated it it was amazing. But as she leaves London for LA, Sarah finds herself morphing from the perfect girlfriend, baby voicing 'I love you's, into a nutty one who throws phones and screams a lot. Seriously, with this book, I've completed yet another author's collection I have all of Sophie Kinsella's and Lindsey Kelk's. Man alive, this book has to be the Holy Grail. It's so impossible to get it unless you buy it online, which I couldn't because my bloody debit card isn't allowed for online transactions, what a piss take.

I had to personally walk into Kinokuniya and order it, with the fancy receipt code and details. So, I ordered it in the beginning of April and it only arrived last weekend. Since I was finishing a book, I stormed into the book and got myself hooked! I finished the book in 3 days and I got the lovely feeling of meeting an old friend who you were really fond of but she had to leave, that sort of feeling.

Upon finishing the book, I was gutted because I realised, I wouldn't be able to get hold of another Lucy-Anne Holmes's novel until February The book continues where 50 Ways to Find A Lover left off, Sarah and Simon helplessly and madly in love, appreciating each other's presence and clearly, being in love. I dare say, I found Sarah really, really real, as in you can easily relate to her, albeit her antics which will bound to go tits up, it's a pleasure to read how Lucy described everything through Sarah's point of view.

The (Im)Perfect Girlfriend

Sarah, as usual was funny, quirky, witty, lovable and downright hilarious. I have to praise as much as I could because I'm kissing Lucy's arse in order to get a review copy of her next book. To me, Sarah was somehow like Becky, what with her aloofness and tendency to over think things. Except, Sarah had a bigger bum and fantastic acting skills but terrible singing vocals. Minus the enormous mounting debt. Besides Sarah, there was lovely Simon who was the perfect boyfriend, who doesn't care about Sarah's athlete's foot, who'd love Sarah unconditionally, even though she's a pillock, as self-proclaimed by her herself.

Then there was her best friend, Julia who didn't make much of an appearance in this book, much to my chagrin, I thought her presence brought out Sarah's humour. I used to think Rachel was a bimbo with a string of sexcapades to her name, but she turned out to be an actual friend. Well, surprise, surprise! She was the one who saved Sarah's arse most of the time, pushing her to work harder for her role in Eamonn Nigels's film as "a stripper who gets raped and killed" by the ever gorgeous Leo Clement.

The pace of the story flowed very smoothly and was packed with many events, such as Sarah's trip to LA which went bust, then her steamy sex scene with Leo to a really, really lovely ending. Overall, I thought this was the perfect ending to Sarah Sargeant's story. Successful career, a man on her tow who loves her even though she's the imperfect girlfriend and a little happily ever after never hurt anyone, right?

Ah, the wait, damn.. Mar 02, Isa rated it it was amazing Shelves: , protagonist-is-female , series , reviewed , read-physical-copy , 5-stars. Originally reviewed on Words in a Teacup. Sarah Sargeant, full-time actress and most-time waitress, has finally found the right man.

This book made me happy. A Originally reviewed on Words in a Teacup. A lot of things make me chuckle and even laugh, I can smile at certain books and they may warm my heart, but I was genuinely happy while reading The Im perfect Girlfriend. We will see how I feel when I finally read the first book, maybe there was something really blatant that I missed? The main character is delightful and I want her to be my friend for really selfish reasons such as a wallowing-partner and also feeling better about myself.

The perfect girlfriend

Aside from Sarah there is a host of fabulous characters in it and I loved them all except perhaps for Simon, who mostly just makes me squint and angrily stare at the book. Still though, I was delighted and happy, so four and a half teacups it is. Jun 25, Gemma Handley rated it liked it Shelves: chick-lit. I think that my main issue with this book is purely just the fact we hardly got to see Sarah and Simon in a happy relationship at all, after all the pining he did in the previous book and waiting until literally the last pages to see them finally admit their love for one another, you'd think we'd get to see them be happy for at least a few chapters in this book, but no, history just repeated itself.

I don't think the Simon in this book matched the Simon in the previous, it was like she was dating I think that my main issue with this book is purely just the fact we hardly got to see Sarah and Simon in a happy relationship at all, after all the pining he did in the previous book and waiting until literally the last pages to see them finally admit their love for one another, you'd think we'd get to see them be happy for at least a few chapters in this book, but no, history just repeated itself. I don't think the Simon in this book matched the Simon in the previous, it was like she was dating a whole other guy.

Which is actually just the start of the confusion with this novel Wasn't Eamonn doing a romance movie, not a thriller? And how long had Simon and Sarah actually been going out if Ruth was still actually pregnant with his child?

Are you the perfect girlfriend?

I also found Sarah to be a little bit irritating at times, but over all, I think this was a fairly good read. The series has been fun and sweet, I just would of preferred to have a little bit more happy ever after than just in the last page of each book. Aug 18, Rosie rated it liked it Shelves: read I really enjoyed this book, it was funny and it had a good plot. Sarah was a good character to have in a book like this, although after a while her swearing became a little tiring and I started to find her quite frustrating.

The book had many good twists in it pulled off very well even if they didn't make sense at times however I felt that sometimes the book was a little disjointed, especially towards the end. At the end it just seemed a little rushed and just thrown together. What would make i I really enjoyed this book, it was funny and it had a good plot.

What would make it better was if there was an epilogue at the end to tie up all the lose ends. Like if she stayed together with the one she chose or if it all just went wrong, and if things worked out for Rachel. There was no hint to there being any sequel but with the way it ended it didn't seem impossible. Fantastic book but the ending left me slightly disappointed. Aug 03, Vanessa Samuel rated it it was ok. From one of the best to possibly one of the most mind-numbing chick-lit books I have ever read. It took such a sheer amount of effort to complete it that I didn't even wish for it to get better.

I just wished for it to end.
